This policy explains how JollofTV collects, uses, and protects your personal data. We collect your email, password, and subscription info via Stripe. We use this data to manage your account and provide the service. We don't sell your data. You have the right to access, correct, or delete your data under GDPR.
1. Who We Are
JollofTV ("we", "us", "our") is a streaming service providing African live TV and on-demand films to audiences worldwide. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, share and protect your personal data when you use our website at jolloftv.com.
2. Data We Collect
- Account data: Email address, password hash, sign-in provider (email or Google).
- Profile data: Profile names, avatars, language preferences, kids mode setting.
- Subscription data: Stripe customer ID, subscription status, billing currency. We do not store full card numbers — Stripe handles all payment data.
- Usage data: Pages visited, channels watched, films added to watchlist — stored on your device unless you opt in to optional analytics.
- Technical data: IP address, browser type, device type, referrer URL — collected via server logs for security and performance.
- Optional analytics and diagnostics: If you accept all cookies, PostHog and Sentry may process event data, app/browser details, crash diagnostics, and masked web session replay. Text inputs are masked and media is blocked in replay.

3. How We Use Your Data
- To create and manage your account and profiles
- To process subscription payments and manage billing via Stripe
- To enforce subscription access controls on premium content
- To personalise your experience (kids mode, language, currency)
- To send transactional emails (account verification, subscription receipts)
- To detect and prevent fraud and abuse
- To improve reliability and product quality through optional, consent-based analytics and crash diagnostics
4. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with:
- Supabase: Authentication and database hosting.
- Stripe: Payment processing. Stripe's Privacy Policy applies to data you submit during checkout.
- Vercel: Hosting and CDN. Server logs may be retained by Vercel per their data practices.
- PostHog: Optional product analytics, only after you accept all cookies.
- Sentry: Optional crash reporting, performance diagnostics, and masked web session replay, only after you accept all cookies.
- Legal requirements: We may disclose data if required by law or to protect the safety of users.
Deleting Your Account
Open JollofTV, sign in, and go to Account → Delete Account. You'll be asked to type a confirmation phrase before the deletion is processed immediately — no waiting period, no need to contact us.
If you can't access the app (for example, you've already uninstalled it), email privacy@jolloftv.com from the address on your account and we'll process the deletion manually.
What gets deleted: your profile, watchlist, favourites and viewing history. Some data (e.g. Stripe payment records) may be retained longer where required by tax or accounting law — see Data Retention below.
5. Your Rights (GDPR)
If you are in the European Economic Area or UK, you have the right to:
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Correct inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data (see "Deleting Your Account" above)
- Object to or restrict certain processing
- Data portability
- Withdraw consent at any time (for consent-based processing)

6. Data Retention
We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Once you request deletion, your personal data is fully removed within 30 days, except where retention is required by law (e.g. Stripe payment records for tax or accounting purposes).
7. Cookies & Analytics
We use essential storage for authentication and session management. PostHog analytics and Sentry crash reporting/session replay are optional and only run after you choose Accept All in the privacy banner.
8. Security
We use industry-standard security measures including encrypted connections (HTTPS), hashed passwords, and access controls. No internet transmission is 100% secure; we cannot guarantee absolute security.
9. Children
JollofTV is not directed at children under 13. Our Kids Mode is a content filter for family accounts — the account itself must be created by an adult. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.
10. Changes to this Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by email or by displaying a notice on the service.
